Lake Hiawatha Celebration

Freshwater, along with the City of Minneapolis and other partners, will unveil a new trash boom system designed to prevent pollution on Lake Hiawatha.
This free, all ages event includes:
– Volunteer cleanup
– Art installation
– Canoeing
– DIY environmentally friendly cleaners
– Macroinvertebrate search with aquatic nets
– Sign up for Adopt-a-Drain and Adopt a River programs
The cleanup will begin at 9 a.m. with press interviews at 11 a.m. and installation of the boom filters at 11:15 a.m.
