Spotlighting Willow Reserve with the Urban Bird Collective
July 22, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Join Capitol Region Watershed District
to learn more about the birds and plants found at Willow Reserve (capitolregionwd.org/projects/willow-reserve) in Saint Paul’s North End neighborhood!
Willow Reserve is a 23-acre urban oasis with wetlands that provide excellent habitats for birds, frogs, and other wildlife. The wetlands are a critical stopover point for migratory birds following the Mississippi River Flyway. Past DNR surveys have identified 36 different bird species in the reserve! Capitol Region Watershed District (CRWD) has worked to restore Willow Reserve and add native plants that help improve water quality while providing habitat for pollinators and other wildlife.
This free, family-friendly event includes:
Guided birding tours with the Urban Bird Collective to observe the birds in the Reserve. No experience is needed. Come check out our feathery neighbors!
Plant identification walks with CRWD staff.
Parking is located on the side streets of Arundel and Virginia Street.
