This year’s class of Stewards celebrated their graduation at Confluence, an annual gathering of certified stewards, partners, and program supporters. Capstone projects were on display as attendees noshed on appetizers, sampled Bang Brewing beverages, and celebrated the collective impact of volunteering over the last year. This year, awards were given to the Stewards who submitted the most volunteer hours, with the top awardee clocking in at a whopping 101 hours. Now, more than 350 certified stewards are leaders for water health in their communities!
In October, 50 new steward candidates attended the first of six in-person classes covering a wide variety of topics including hydrology, water policy, conservation, community engagement, and landscaping for water quality. When coursework is completed, candidates carry out a capstone project that improves water health and engages their community.
