One county and three cities have been honored by the Minnesota Health Department and Gov. Mark Dayton for their efforts to protect drinking water sources.
Dayton and the Health Department singled out the Anoka County Municipal Wellhead Protection Group and the cities of Cold Spring, Detroit Lakes, and Shakopee as examples for other communities to emulate.
The Health Department made the announcement in a news release as part of the May 5-11 Safe Drinking Water Week. The department also released its 2012 report on Minnesota’s 961 community water systems. Read the news release. Download the report.
