Manoomin is the food that grows on water. Join us at the Minnesota Historical Society’s Mille Lacs Trading Post and Museum in Onamia, MN. Head to the lakeshore to watch museum staff process wild rice using traditional methods including parching, threshing, and winnowing
NEED-TO-KNOWS
Children and families are welcome. This event will use non-English words, Indigenous world views and ways of knowing, and frame knowledge through a traditional ecological lens. Please dress comfortably for the weather. Wear shoes and clothes that can be exposed to natural environments. Expect to stand and walk for the duration of the event.
